Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zheng Ming (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabricio Werdum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zheng Ming has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Zheng Ming! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fabricio Werdum! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Wagner Zegers and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Werdum drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Ming gets caught napping as Werdum dives in and scores a takedown. Ming manages to retain guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Werdum decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Ming darts in and clinches Werdum up against the cage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ming lands a shoulder strike. Ming scores with a hook to the body. Werdum lands a takedown into guard.
Ming wants to control but Werdum passes easily into half guard.
Ming wants to get back to full guard. Ming is trying to stand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Werdum is looking to take a break and control but Ming is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Werdum slows the pace down in half guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Werdum is trying to control. Ming wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Fabricio Werdum hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Werdum shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ming pinned against the cage. Ming gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Nice takedown defense from Ming. No joy for Werdum on that attempt. Fabricio Werdum seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Werdum fails to land with a series of punches.
Ming swings for the body but Werdum moves out of range.
Werdum takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Werdum looks winded!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Werdum tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ming sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Werdum somewhat. Zheng Ming has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fabricio Werdum. Ming ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ming fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Ming getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
It looks like Fabricio Werdum has been cut. Ming is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Werdum flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Werdum is out cold! Ming holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Zheng Ming! Zheng Ming decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
