Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Romero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hector Romero!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Jones. Those never looked like landing.
Jones misses with a looping right.
Romero showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jones.

Romero fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jones, pushing him back against the cage.
Jones has had enough of the clinch but Romero keeps him there for the moment.

Romero manages to break the clinch.
Romero goes for a double leg but Jones avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Jones continues to drive forward.

Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Romero fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jones looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Jones leaves Romero with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Romero goes for a double leg but Jones avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Jones continues to drive forward.
Jason Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hector Romero.
Romero wants a takedown but no success here.
Romero lands with a left to the head.

Romero manages to break the clinch.
Jones leaves Romero with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Romero fails in his attempt to clinch.
Jones misses with a double jab.
Romero goes for a double leg but Jones avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Jones continues to drive forward.
Jones is trying to force a seperation but Romero has the dominant position.
Romero keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Jones's efforts to push away.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Romero.
Jones wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Romero has him pressed against the cage.
Romero lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Jones.
Romero has Jones pressed against the cage, preventing Jones from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Romero takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Romero tries to break free but Jones pushes him back against the cage.
Jones wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Romero can't find room to land a body shot as Jones controls the action.
Romero is trying to break the clinch but Jones is controlling him.
Romero tries to score a body lock takedown but Jones shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Romero is trying to pull guard but Jones turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Romero keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Jones's efforts to push away.
Romero is looking for a takedown.
Romero has Jones pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Jones manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Romero manages to break the clinch.

A looping hook to the body misses from Jones. Romero does a little dance to reset his feet.

Romero closes the distance and clinches.
Romero looking to throw knees to the head but Jones is blocking nicely.
Jones wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Romero has him pressed against the cage.

Romero's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Romero tries to land a front kick but Jones steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Romero takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.


It looks like Hector Romero has been cut.
Romero fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jones looks to land a combination but Romero avoids it well.
Romero takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jones lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
A left lands for Jones.


Romero is rocked!
Jones swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Romero is still on wobbly legs! Can Jones finish him?

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jones defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Romero.
Romero seems to have recovered his senses.
Romero wants to clinch.
Jones lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Romero falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jason Jones!
