Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Edson Garcia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ramazan Emaev! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Nard Betker and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garcia gets caught napping as Emaev dives in and scores a takedown. Garcia manages to retain guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Garcia keeping moving, preventing Emaev from controlling successfully.
Ramazan Emaev has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Emaev shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Emaev was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Garcia on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Garcia tries to get out of the position. Garcia tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Emaev trying to control the position but Garcia is working away. Emaev has knee on belly and moves into mount. Garcia wants to hold on but Emaev pushes him away. Emaev wants to control the pace but Garcia is squirming around nicely. Emaev raining down hammerfists from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Emaev wants to control the pace but Garcia is squirming around nicely. Emaev misses with a head shot. Garcia is squirming around, avoiding Emaev's attempts to control the action. Emaev might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Garcia haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Emaev jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Garcia is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Garcia and Emaev has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Garcia prevents Emaev from improving position. Emaev working away. Garcia is not content to let Emaev control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Emaev trying to control the action but Garcia is working from the bottom.

Emaev has clasped his hands together around Garcia's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Garcia tries to bench press Emaev off him but Emaev keeps the position. Garcia parries the strikes from Emaev easily there. Emaev is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Garcia to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ramazan Emaev dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Emaev throws a right hand that Garcia ducks under and follows up with a left that Garcia also avoids with ease. Garcia rushes Emaev and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Emaev gets control of Garcia's arms and successfully pulls guard. Emaev will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Emaev is trying to control the position but Garcia postures up. Garcia decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Edson Garcia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Garcia clinches. Garcia slowing the pace effectively. Emaev turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Emaev manages to end up in side control. Emaev throws an elbow but Garcia slips to the side and avoids it well. Garcia managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Emaev.

That's one minute gone in the round. Garcia regains half guard there - taking advantage of Emaev's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Emaev seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Garcia does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Emaev trying to advance position but Garcia counters by regaining guard. Garcia is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Garcia escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Emaev gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Emaev is fighting to break Garcia's control of his arms but Garcia is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Garcia is trying to keep Emaev in close.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Garcia manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Emaev wants to control but Garcia is having none of it. Emaev is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Garcia avoids the attempt from Emaev to control. Garcia thowing shots but they're missing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Ramazan Emaev will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
A head kick misses from Garcia. Garcia has a takedown stuffed. Emaev tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Garcia paws at him with a jab and circles away. Garcia moves into the clinch successfully.
Garcia lands with a short head shot on the inside. Emaev trying to land knees to the body.

Emaev wants to sweep but no luck. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Garcia prevents Emaev from getting back to his feet. Emaev pulls Garcia in close to prevent any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garcia wants to control from the top but Emaev keeps moving. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Edson Garcia just wasn't active enough. Garcia rushes Emaev and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Emaev wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Garcia creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Knees to the body from Garcia.
Both guys are working to get underhooks. Garcia scores with a shot to the side of Emaev's head. Garcia lands with a light punch inside. Emaev turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Emaev manages to end up in side control. Emaev takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Garcia can't do much from the bottom here. Garcia is not content to let Emaev control the position. Garcia might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. You can see the frustration on Garcia's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Emaev working the strikes but Garcia uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Garcia tries to roll over but Emaev keeps him under control. Garcia regains full guard. Nicely done. Ramazan Emaev has got the better of the ground game so far. Garcia has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Emaev is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Garcia. Emaev tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Emaev tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Emaev wants to lay and pray for a moment but Garcia keeps working. Garcia defending against the ground and pound. Garcia tries to buck Emaev off but Emaev is having none of it. Emaev looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Garcia is avoiding damage well.
Edson Garcia has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Emaev scores with punches from side control. Ramazan Emaev is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Garcia throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Ramazan Emaev. I've got Emaev winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
