Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Boris Mishkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronaldo Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Boris Mishkin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ronaldo Gracie! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Felipe Paraventi and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie tries a head kick but it misses.
Mishkin throws a series of punches but Gracie moves out of range. Mishkin fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Mishkin wants to clinch. Gracie should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Gracie with a lazy takedown attempt and Mishkin counters with a lovely shot to the body. Mishkin tries for a takedown but Gracie sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Gracie fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gracie scores with a takedown into Mishkin's guard. Mishkin is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gracie is controlling him. Gracie postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie wants to control from the top but Mishkin keeps moving. Mishkin is looking to stand up but Gracie isn't so interested in that idea. Gracie looking to sit in guard and control but Mishkin gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Mishkin postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Mishkin advances position into side control! Mishkin is looking to take a break and control but Gracie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Check out the look on Mishkin's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
That's three minutes gone in the round. The ground and pound from Mishkin seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Gracie struggling a bit here. Gracie looks gassed! Mishkin working the ground and pound from side control. Mishkin creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Mishkin stands up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mishkin clinches. Mishkin with a knee to the head.
Gracie taking a breather. Mishkin misses with a knee strike.
Gracie goes for a takedown in the clinch but Mishkin prevents it.
Gracie is trying to trip Mishkin. He has hold of a leg but Mishkin is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Gracie persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Mishkin thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Mishkin trying to strike off his back.
Mishkin managing to control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Boris Mishkin dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Mishkin misses with a takedown attempt and Gracie counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Mishkin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Gracie darts in trying to clinch and Mishkin counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Mishkin. Gracie tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Mishkin smiles and moves away.
Gracie shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Mishkin counters by clinching up. Mishkin connects with a knee to the head.
Mishkin breaks the clinch.
Mishkin connects with the punch. Mishkin tries for a takedown but Gracie circles away easily and Gracie counters with a shoot takedown. Mishkin fights it but they end up in guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. This has been an exciting period of action! There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mishkin is on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mishkin works over Gracie with some ground and pound from guard. Mishkin landing some decent shots from guard. Gracie wants to improve his position but instead Mishkin has moved into half guard.
Mishkin not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Mishkin passes to side control. Mishkin looks up at the clock and then as Gracie takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Mishkin smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Mishkin lands an elbow. Mishkin in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mishkin wants to control but Gracie is keeping him busy. Mishkin is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Gracie is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Gracie is working to avoid the ground and pound but Mishkin connects with a decent elbow. Mishkin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Gracie is working to avoid the ground and pound but Mishkin connects with a decent elbow. Gracie wants to control but Mishkin postures up. Mishkin is chipping away with strikes.
Mishkin cracks Gracie with an elbow. That is naaassty. Mishkin lands an elbow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Boris Mishkin dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
The fight stays on the outside here - Mishkin looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Mishkin tries to close the distance and clinch but Gracie swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Gracie scores with a takedown into Mishkin's guard. Gracie is fighting to break Mishkin's control of his arms but Mishkin is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Gracie trying to control but Mishkin is working from the bottom. Mishkin throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Gracie takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie looking to sit in guard and control but Mishkin gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Mishkin decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Mishkin fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Mishkin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mishkin shoots in for a double leg but Gracie sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Gracie has his takedown stuffed and Mishkin counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Horrible takedown by Mishkin or perhaps it was just good defense by Gracie which made him look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Boris Mishkin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gracie takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Mishkin plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Boris Mishkin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Mishkin tries to clinch up. Mishkin moves in looking to clinch but Gracie pushes him off. Mishkin throws a head kick that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie has his takedown stuffed and Mishkin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Mishkin fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Gracie wants to clinch and Mishkin counters with a shoot takedown. Gracie fights it but they end up in guard. Gracie working a defensive guard here.
Gracie is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Mishkin dives into side control.
Mishkin has control of an arm but Gracie manages to advance to Mishkin's back! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie tries to escape but Mishkin has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Mishkin lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
And that's the end of the fight! Boris Mishkin showed his dominance in that final round. Well Mishkin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
