Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, James James! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jonnie Boardwalk! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Dean Styles and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boardwalk throws a hook but James avoids it easily. Boardwalk scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Boardwalk tests James's chin there with a solid looking shot. James slips under a jab. Jonnie Boardwalk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A big left from Boardwalk misses. No joy there for Boardwalk, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Boardwalk stuffs the takedown. Boardwalk digs a good body shot into James's ribs. Boardwalk throws a combination but it was largely blocked by James. Boardwalk throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Boardwalk swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Boardwalk missing with a left hand there. James was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Boardwalk throws a good cross that connects.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boardwalk throws a jab but it's blocked by James. Boardwalk throws a hook but James blocks it. Boardwalk fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. James looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. James takes one to the side of the head.
James is rocked! Boardwalk ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with James's jaw. James's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Boardwalk does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jonnie Boardwalk! During a confident post fight interview, Jonnie Boardwalk thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
