Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dr Dre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Briggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Briggs will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dr Dre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, James Briggs!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Roger Salmon and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dre looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Briggs is fending him off so far but Dre persists. Nope, Briggs circles away and we're back to standing.

Briggs dives in and scores a takedown into Dre's guard.

Dre's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Dre tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Briggs wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Briggs lands a couple of good shots and Dre has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dre.
Briggs rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dre moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Dre drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Briggs manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dre has Briggs in his guard.

James Briggs has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Briggs throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Dre stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Dre shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Briggs napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Dre goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Briggs rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Dre's guard! Nice work there by Briggs!

Briggs is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Briggs can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dre controls the pace.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dr Dre will probably get the nod.
That's time! Dre's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Dre's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Briggs connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Dre scrambles back to his feet.

James Briggs comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Briggs has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
