Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alex Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Borthol Grynworst (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Borthol Grynworst! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva needs to keep his hands up - Grynworst had a free shot at his head there. Grynworst paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Grynworst thuds a left hand into Silva's body. Silva finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Grynworst shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Silva's guard. Silva is looking for a triangle but Grynworst pushes his legs off easily.
Grynworst postures up.
Grynworst pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Silva is keeping the position for now. Silva had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Grynworst defends it easily. Grynworst wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving. Grynworst throwing strikes from guard but Silva blocks nicely. Grynworst is looking to work some ground and pound but Silva has wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Grynworst stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silva swivels though and keeps the full guard. Grynworst is in close to Silva's body, working some short punches and elbows. Silva has control of Grynworst's left arm, preventing Grynworst from doing any damage. Silva looking to hit a scissor sweep but Grynworst is one step ahead there. Silva manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Grynworst wants to hold on but Silva pushes him away. Grynworst is trying desperately to improve position. Silva working Grynworst over with strikes here. We've been hearing good reports from Silva's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. A nice elbow there by Silva. Silva looking to ground and pound but Grynworst is blocking nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Grynworst is trying to escape the mount.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Grynworst is still trying to improve position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Silva looking to finish Grynworst with some ground and pound. This is bad for Grynworst! Grynworst is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Silva putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Grynworst takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Grynworst tries to reverse the position but Silva maintains control. Silva wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. Silva has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Silva thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Grynworst gets back to half guard. Grynworst trying to hold on to Silva's head to control him but Silva postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva trying to pass the guard but Grynworst defending well. Silva is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Grynworst has managed to free his arm - good work. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Silva connects with a nice short shot to Grynworst's temple. Silva is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Grynworst wants to control but Silva is keeping busy and won't allow it. Silva is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Silva is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Grynworst doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Silva.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Grynworst has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Silva. Oh but Grynworst has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Silva goes limp - he's gone! Grynworst jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Borthol Grynworst! Borthol Grynworst decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
