Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bud Macintosh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miklo Velka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Velka has chosen Cypress Hill - Insane In The Membrane as his entrance music. Miklo Velka told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Thiago Cunha and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velka gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Macintosh.
Velka tries to close the distance and clinch but Macintosh swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Velka tries to clinch but Macintosh moves out of range.
Velka takes the fight into the clinch.
Macintosh blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Velka lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Velka prevents a takedown attempt there.
Velka lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Macintosh is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Velka gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Velka.
Velka tries a knee to the head but Macintosh blocks it.
Velka keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Macintosh's efforts to push away.

Macintosh jumps guard but Velka stands there with Macintosh around his waist. Macintosh gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Macintosh has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Velka after a bit of a struggle.

A knee to the head by Velka.
Velka comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
It looks like Bud Macintosh has been cut.
Velka is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Macintosh breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Velka finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Macintosh looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Velka is fending him off so far but Macintosh persists. Nope, Velka circles away and we're back to standing.
Macintosh looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Velka uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Macintosh has time to react.

Velka looks to land a left hand but Macintosh moved out of range nicely.
Velka tries to land a front kick but Macintosh steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Macintosh looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Velka throws a lazy right hand but Macintosh sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Macintosh closes the distance and clinches up with Velka, looking for a takedown. Macintosh pushes Velka against the cage but Velka circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Velka wants to clinch up but Macintosh keeps it at a distance.
Velka swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Macintosh fails with the takedown
and Velka counters with a good low kick that Macintosh was not able to check.
Velka throws the kick towards the body but Macintosh avoids it.
Velka lands a jab to the head.
Macintosh stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Velka.
Velka tries to land a front kick but Macintosh steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Velka feints and then cracks Macintosh's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Macintosh down.

Velka closes the distance and pushes Macintosh back into the cage.
Velka lands a left hand.
Macintosh looking for a takedown.
Macintosh tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Macintosh looking for subs off his back but Velka has passed one foot through into half guard.

Velka wants to pass the guard but Macintosh is defending well.
Macintosh is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are battling for position here. Macintosh manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Velka controls from within his opponent's guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Macintosh working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Velka doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Velka manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Macintosh shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Velka napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Velka is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Macintosh's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Macintosh's back!
Velka has the hooks in. Macintosh is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Macintosh feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Velka is pushing Macintosh's head away, looking to escape. Macintosh manages to hold on to the position though.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Macintosh is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Velka is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Velka throws a hook but Macintosh avoids it easily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Macintosh.
Macintosh shoots in but no luck this time.

Velka throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Macintosh on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Velka. Velka obviously looking to wear him down.
Macintosh tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Velka defends well and Macintosh ends up having to push Velka into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Macintosh is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Macintosh wants the takedown. Velka is fighting it off but Macintosh persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Velka's guard against the cage.

My spies in The Warehouse inform me that Velka has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Velka perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Velka throws a nice outside leg kick.
A nice leg kick lands there from Velka.
Velka throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

Macintosh closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Velka is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Macintosh presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Velka creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Macintosh has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Velka is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Macintosh tries to pull guard but Velka won't allow it.

Velka lands an elbow inside.

I would just about give that final round to Miklo Velka.
I think Velka has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
