Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kelvin Nguyen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rub Sand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kelvin Nguyen has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kelvin Nguyen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rub Sand! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nguyen gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Nguyen has his foot on Sand's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sand works his way back into a safe position though. Nguyen had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sand defends it easily. Sand pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Nguyen is keeping the position for now. Nguyen controls Sand momentarily but Sand frees himself. Sand avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sand pushes down on Nguyen's leg and manages to get into half guard. Sand content to control rather than advance. Nguyen trying to control here.
Sand is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Nguyen is just riding it out for now. Sand eventually gives up the hold. Sand controlling the action here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sand wants to stand up but Nguyen manages to regain full guard. Sand postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Sand has gone for a leg lock! Nguyen slips out almost immediately though and dives into Sand's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nguyen throwing strikes but missing. Nguyen content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Sand is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Sand is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Sand looking to control.
Sand looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nguyen is one step ahead there. Nguyen has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sand is proving hard to escape from. Nguyen scoring with some ground and pound. Nguyen won't allow Sand to sweep him here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sand has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nguyen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Nguyen cracks Sand with a solid left hand. Nguyen lands a couple of digs. Nguyen content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nguyen is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Nguyen thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Nguyen's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nguyen throwing strikes from guard but Sand blocks nicely. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sand can do anything to dispel that myth. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Nguyen makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Nguyen stops Sand from standing up. Nguyen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sand has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nguyen has managed to get both his arms back between Sand's legs - danger averted. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Kelvin Nguyen will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Sand is looking to clinch. Sand instigates a clinch. Sand tries to stall but Nguyen uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Sand breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nguyen gets caught napping as Sand dives in and scores a takedown. Nguyen manages to retain guard. Sand trying to control the position from guard on top but Nguyen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nguyen preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Sand really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nguyen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Nguyen keeping moving, preventing Sand from controlling successfully. Sand stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nguyen swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sand trying to control the position from guard on top but Nguyen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Rub Sand wasn't active enough on the ground. Sand closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Nguyen did well to prevent Sand getting side control. Nguyen looking for submissions off his back. Sand controlling the action here. Nguyen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Sand is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nguyen controlling the position well. Sand tries to pass to full mount but Nguyen defends it. Sand misses with a head shot. Nguyen uses the momentum to regain guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nguyen is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Sand postures up.

Rub Sand showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Rub Sand has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Sand throws a right and a left that Nguyen avoids nicely. A solid body kick from Sand. Sand swinging wildly here.

It looks like Kelvin Nguyen has been cut. Sand closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Nguyen quickly recovers to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nguyen is looking to control Sand's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nguyen avoid being mounted? Sand wants to take a breather but Nguyen is having none of it.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Rub Sand hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Sand shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sand showed some decent athleticism there. This has been an exciting period of action! Sand is figuring out what he wants to do next. Sand takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Sand throwing shots but Nguyen is blocking nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Sand lands a nice short elbow. Sand tries to stand but can't do so whilst Nguyen controls his leg. Sand trying to control from Nguyen's half guard. Nguyen has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Nguyen has momentary wrist control but Sand slips an elbow through the middle. Sand trying to control the position from guard on top but Nguyen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nguyen is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sand stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nguyen swivels though and keeps the full guard. Nguyen looking to control.
Sand stays in close to Nguyen's body and controls the position. Nguyen utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Sand being controlled here momentarily.
And that's the end of the fight! Rub Sand comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Sand has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
