Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Melendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derick Steve (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Melendez might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Rage Against The Machine - Bulls On Parade. Steve has chosen Happy Day as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ricky Melendez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derick Steve! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steve clinches up against the cage. Melendez blocks an uppercut.
Melendez wants a takedown.
Steve gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Melendez.
Melendez tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ricky Melendez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Steve pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Melendez fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Melendez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Steve pinned against the cage. Steve gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Melendez shoots in and drives through. Steve sprawls well. Melendez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Steve sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Melendez somewhat. Steve scores with a nice body kick.
Melendez is breathing heavily. Steve turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Steve throws a head kick but Melendez moves out of range.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Steve gets a clinch. Melendez keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Steve's efforts to push away. Melendez tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steve wants to get back to striking at distance but Melendez won't allow it.
Steve tries to circle away but Melendez has him pinned against the cage. A shot in the inside from Steve. Steve lands a left hand.
Steve's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Steve has Melendez up against the cage in a clinch.
Steve's coach down at GreatWall MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Steve's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Steve wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Steve working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Melendez is rocked! A frustrated look appears on Steve's face as he tries to break the clinch. Oh Melendez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Steve breaks the clinch.
Steve leaves Melendez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Steve has closed the distance and engaged Melendez in a clinch.
Melendez seems to have got his legs back now. Steve is trying to push Melendez away but Melendez has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Melendez drops down looking for an ankle pick but Steve pulls his leg out and moves away.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Steve.
Derick Steve is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Steve tries a head kick but it misses.
Steve has managed to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steve has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Steve wants to break free but Melendez has control.
A short uppercut from Steve. Melendez tries for a takedown but Steve manages to get underhooks.
Steve manages to break the clinch.
Steve moves into the clinch. Melendez is looking to take this one to the mat. Steve gets through Melendez's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Steve looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Steve is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Steve lands a nice uppercut. Steve lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Steve is trying to force a seperation but Melendez has the dominant position. Melendez prevents Steve from breaking the clinch. A short left from Steve. Melendez wants a takedown but no success here.
Steve wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Melendez has him pressed against the cage. Steve lands with a right to the head. Steve tries to break the clinch but Melendez is controlling the position. Steve's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steve closes the distance and clinches. Melendez drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Steve tries to circle away but Melendez has him pinned against the cage. Steve has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Our sources have told us that Melendez has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight. Steve dips a shoulder and cracks Melendez with a mighty uppercut! Melendez falls back against the cage and Steve unloads with a barrage of strikes! Melendez is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Steve screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Derick Steve! Derick Steve decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well. In defeat, Ricky Melendez stepped up to the mic, saying 'Fuck.'.
