Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Keiran Corkhill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Diego Lima!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Joseph Jones and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lima takes the fight into the clinch.
Lima working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Lima slowing the pace effectively.
We've been hearing reports that Corkhill has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Lima breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lima keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Lima is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Corkhill shoots in looking for a takedown. Lima tries to sprawl out of it but Corkhill keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lima manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Lima throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Corkhill.

Lima fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Corkhill, pushing him back against the cage.

Lima tries to throw a body punch but Corkhill avoids it by throwing Lima back against the cage.

Lima pushes Corkhill back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Corkhill has Lima pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Lima manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Come on Lima - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Lima lands a right hand that snaps the head of Corkhill backwards.
Lima presses Corkhill against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Lima pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lima lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Lima lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Corkhill at a distance.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Corkhill tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Lima defends well and Corkhill ends up having to push Lima into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Lima makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Lima lands a shoulder strike.
Lima lands an elbow inside that Corkhill shrugs off.
Corkhill is working for takedown but Lima is calmly controlling the position for now.
Lima stops a takedown attempt from Corkhill.
Lima digs a right hand into Corkhill's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Corkhill's gas tank.

Corkhill is trying to drag Lima to the mat but Lima just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Lima defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Corkhill.
Lima feints a jab promting Corkhill to slip. Lima then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Corkhill slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Corkhill shoots in for a takedown but Lima shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lima stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lima wants it to stay on the feet.

Lima closes the distance and pushes Corkhill back into the cage.
Corkhill drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lima pulls his leg out and moves away.

Lima has taken the fight to the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Lima manages to break the clinch.
Lima stuffs the takedown.
Lima fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Diego Lima dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!

Corkhill is trying to drag Lima to the mat but Lima just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Corkhill drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lima pulls his leg out and moves away.
Lima scores with a head kick. Corkhill tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Lima feints and then cracks Corkhill's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Corkhill down.

Corkhill is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Lima gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Keiran Corkhill. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lima lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Corkhill or not.
Lima is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Corkhill is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Lima pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Diego Lima seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lima struggles to land a body shot inside as Corkhill controls his hands.

Corkhill shoots in for a double leg but Lima sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Diego Lima is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Corkhill. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Corkhill throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lima's waist but Lima gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Corkhill off to one side.

Corkhill changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Lima fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Corkhill feints and as Lima raises his hands in defense, Corkhill changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Corkhill wants to pass the guard but Lima is keeping the position.
Corkhill trying to control but Lima is working from the bottom.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Corkhill drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Corkhill jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Corkhill drops back, looking for a kneebar! Lima looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lima looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lima!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Diego Lima showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Keiran Corkhill's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Lima fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Corkhill.

Lima dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Corkhill. That did some damage!
Corkhill closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lima circles away.

Lima feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Corkhill's calf.
Corkhill avoids the body shot from Lima.
Lima connects with a solid leg kick.
Lima fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Lima has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Lima thumps Corkhill with a low kick.
Lima tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Corkhill counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Lima really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Corkhill. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lima takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Corkhill is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lima is just riding it out for now. Corkhill eventually gives up the hold.

Corkhill is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Lima!

Lima is squirming around, avoiding Corkhill's attempts to control the action.
Corkhill is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Lima is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Diego Lima is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Lima is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Corkhill locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Lima is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Keiran Corkhill!
A relieved looking Keiran Corkhill thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
