The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Jones bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Pettis's head.

Pettis lands a big head kick that sends Jones tumbling to the mat! Pettis takes a step backwards and waves Jones back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Jones steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Pettis. That one must have hurt.

Jones loads up on a big right hand but Pettis slips the punch.

Pettis throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Jones sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

We've been told by Jones's head coaches at Blackzilians Fighting Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Jones will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.

Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Pettis! Jones is out on his feet! Pettis rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Jones is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Jones is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
