Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vinny Tamaso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Pops (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tamaso's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Comin to your city. On his way into the cage it seems that Vinny Tamaso has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Vinny Tamaso seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Vinny Tamaso!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jason Pops!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pops looks to score with a jab to the body but Tamaso is just out of range.
Tamaso lands a lovely overhand right.
Tamaso slips a jab from Pops.
Tamaso dips to his left and cracks Pops with an uppercut!
Tamaso looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Tamaso!
Tamaso takes one to the side of the head.
Tamaso misses with a low kick as Pops jumps back.
A big left from Pops misses.
Pops checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Pops throws an overhand right that lands on Tamaso's shoulder, as Tamaso tries to avoid the shot.
Tamaso throws a quick inside leg kick.
Tamaso throws a right hand that Pops ducks under and follows up with a left that Pops also avoids with ease.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pops checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Pops has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Pops thows a left - swing and a miss!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Pops checks a leg kick.
Nice sprawl there from Tamaso as Pops shoots in.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tamaso misses with a wild body shot.
Pops with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Tamaso to score with a decent uppercut.
Pops takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Pops throws a sloppy body shot
and Tamaso counters with a one-two to the body.
Tamaso tried to score with a low kick but Pops checks it.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Tamaso, as that shot connected.
Nice jab there from Tamaso.
Vinny Tamaso is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Tamaso throws a right and a left that Pops avoids nicely.
Tamaso cracks Pops with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Tamaso goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Tamaso uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Pops has time to react.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Tamaso throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Tamaso misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Pops.
Tamaso feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Pops's calf.
Tamaso lands with a nice body punch.
Tamaso throws a body shot but no joy.
Vinny Tamaso seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tamaso fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Pops has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Tamaso scores with a shot to the body.
Tamaso connects with an inside leg kick.
Tamaso throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pops.
Tamaso is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Pops swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Pops blocks a low kick nicely.
Tamaso throws a low kick, looking for Pops's leg but Pops calmly moves out of range.
Tamaso is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Tamaso connects with an inside leg kick.
Pops throws a body punch but Tamaso moves out of range.

Pops closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Pops seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Tamaso does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Tamaso is looking to improve his position.

Tamaso is looking for a sweep. Pops is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Pops lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tamaso is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pops's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pops's back!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Tamaso tries to get the hooks in deep but Pops pushed the leg off.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tamaso is trying to stick to Pops's back but Pops is turning into Tamaso. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Tamaso's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Pops.
Tamaso has control of Pops's left arm, preventing Pops from doing any damage.
Pops is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Tamaso manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pops manages to get himself to full guard.

Pops is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Tamaso rolls with it to try and escape but Pops cranks on the arm and Tamaso is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
