Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Diego Godin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keiji Kawada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Diego Godin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Keiji Kawada! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Albert Achterberg and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kawada fails with a takedown attempt. Godin clinches up with Kawada and pushes him back against the cage. Kawada drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Godin tightens his grip and picks Kawada up, before dumping him to the ground. Kawada manages to land in guard. Godin has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Kawada is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Godin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kawada swivels though and keeps the full guard. Godin slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Kawada wants to sweep but no luck. Godin wants to control from the top but Kawada keeps moving. Diego Godin has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Kawada gets caught flat footed, as Godin shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Kawada keeping moving, preventing Godin from controlling successfully. Godin scoring with punches to the head and body. Godin wants to control from the top but Kawada keeps moving. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Kawada not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Godin slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Kawada can't keep his opponent in guard - Godin advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kawada works his way to full guard. Good work. Godin sitting in guard, not really doing much. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Godin lands a couple of decent looking shots. Godin slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Kawada is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Godin has his hands clasped together but Kawada extends and breaks Godin's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Kawada.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Keiji Kawada! After the fight, Keiji Kawada was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
