Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mose Compton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hideki Amori! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Eliza Hachem and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Amori tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Amori fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Compton sprawls well initially but Amori persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Amori is controlling the pace.
Compton is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Amori is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Compton sees it coming and defends easily. Compton tries to kick Amori off but Amori keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Still in half guard, Amori seems content to control. Compton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Compton wants to improve his position but Amori is controlling well.
Compton really is a fat lump. Amori is looking for a kimura here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Amori is keen to just control but Compton is a slippery customer. Amori is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Compton is looking to control Amori's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Compton avoid being mounted? Compton looking for submissions off his back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Amori slows the pace down in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Amori has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Hideki Amori wasn't active enough on the ground. Excellent takedown into side control there by Amori. Amori looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Compton is avoiding damage well.
Amori trying to control the position but Compton is working away. Amori swings around for an armbar but Compton sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Amori's guard. Amori looking for a triangle here. Compton is fighting it but it looks tight! Amori pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Compton is tapping out - this one is all over!
