Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jerald Booth! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Neto Brito! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Daniel Cesar and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brito drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Booth wants to sweep here but Brito controlling him for the moment. Brito controls from within his opponent's guard. Brito wants to get up but he can't break Booth's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Booth really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Brito controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Booth will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Neto Brito wasn't active enough on the ground. Brito tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Booth manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Booth is looking to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brito scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Brito seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Booth is looking to improve his position.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Neto Brito has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Booth fails with an attempt to clinch.
Brito tries to clinch up but Booth circles away and keeps his distance. Booth throws a half hearted mid kick. Excellent takedown into side control there by Brito. Booth struggling a bit here. Brito sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Booth is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Brito happy to just control the position for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brito trying to control the position but Booth is working away.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Brito thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Brito throwing shots but missing, from side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Brito stands up and beckons Booth to his feet. Booth looks to throw a body kick and Brito counters with a series of strikes. Booth will be more careful next time no doubt. Booth thows a leg kick but Brito checks it and Brito counters with a straight right hand.
Booth is rocked!
It looks like Jerald Booth has been cut. Brito throws a sloppy head kick and Booth moves out of range easily. Oh Booth is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Brito misses with a double jab.

Brito scores with a nice body kick.
Brito looks winded! Booth gets tackled into the cage by Brito. Brito maintains the clinch. A bit of stalling here from Brito.
Brito has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Booth clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Brito looking to break Booth's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Booth remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Brito will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Booth is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Brito gets his way!
Brito is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Booth has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Brito misses with a punch to the head. Brito throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Booth seems to have got his legs back now. Brito has the hooks in. Booth is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Neto Brito dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jerald Booth's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
Booth fails with a takedown attempt. Brito shoots in and bounces Booth off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Brito is looking to advance position but Booth has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Brito slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Brito trying to hold on to Booth's head to control him but Booth postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brito is controlling Booth's position as best he can from this difficult position. Brito is looking for a sweep. Booth is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Booth seems to be working for a kimura but Brito defends the submission attempt. Brito is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Booth pulls his head out easily. Brito should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brito tries to get to full guard but Booth has control of the leg. Neto Brito has got the better of the ground game so far. Brito trying to control but Booth postures up.
Booth is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Brito manages to get to full guard. Brito is pulling down on Booth's head to control his posture.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brito looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Booth has picked Brito up and slammed him! Brito can't keep hold of the triangle and Booth manages to pass to side control! Booth lands a decent elbow from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brito tries to bench press Booth off him but Booth keeps the position. Brito is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Brito is breathing heavily. Brito moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Booth postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Brito is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Booth, into his guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Booth throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Brito engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Neto Brito showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Jerald Booth's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Brito drives through and clinches with Booth against the cage.

Brito seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Booth stops Brito from standing up. Booth throws a big elbow that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brito looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Brito takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Brito looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Brito is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Booth trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Brito controls Booth momentarily but Booth frees himself. Brito tries to land a sweep but no joy.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Neto Brito hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Brito misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Brito closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Booth did well to prevent Brito getting side control. Booth wants to improve his position but Brito is controlling well.
Booth moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brito tries to free his leg and advance position but Booth is retaining full guard. Booth tries to land a sweep but no joy. Brito looking to sit in guard and control but Booth gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Brito is trying to hold Booth in close to prevent damage but Booth has managed to pass into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Booth thows a huge punch but Brito dodges it nicely.
Brito wants to get back to full guard but Booth has passed into side control. Brito tries to bench press Booth off him but Booth keeps the position. Brito throws Booth to one side and escapes! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Booth throws a head kick but Brito moves out of range.
Jerald Booth has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Neto Brito is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Booth shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Brito as he jumps to the side.
And that's the end of the fight! Neto Brito comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Brito has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
