Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Myron Dean! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Tenner! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Lou da Vinci and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tenner gets a takedown into half guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Tenner trying to control the pace. Dean is defending against the submission attempts here by Tenner.
Tenner is just content to waste time from the top position. Dean takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Dean not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tenner would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Dean wants to stand and escape but Tenner is having none of it. Tenner throws a big elbow that misses. Dean will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Tenner trying to control but Dean is working from the bottom. Tenner stands up from Dean's guard - Tenner perhaps looking for a knockout. Tenner dips to his left and cracks Dean with an uppercut!
It looks like Myron Dean has been cut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dean gets caught flat footed, as Tenner shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dean preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Tenner wants to control from the top but Dean keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tenner controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Tenner wants to control from the top but Dean keeps moving. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. James Tenner wasn't active enough on the ground. Tenner throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Dean tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Tenner is in Dean's guard. Tenner stopping the sweep attempt from Dean.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. James Tenner wasn't active enough on the ground. Tenner fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dean to the ground. Tenner is now in Dean's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dean wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Tenner wants to control from the top but Dean keeps moving. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Dean holds on and takes a little breather. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Tenner closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dean to the mat! Dean manages to get full guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Tenner tries to stand but Dean is controlling from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Tenner dominated that round. The cut man is working on Myron Dean's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Tenner drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Tenner wants to stand but Dean has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Dean working a defensive guard here.
Tenner tries to free his leg and advance position but Dean is retaining full guard. Dean keeping moving, preventing Tenner from controlling successfully. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dean is on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dean's corner is telling him to maintain position. Dean really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Dean has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Myron Dean just wasn't active enough. Dean gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Tenner to score an easy takedown into full guard. Tenner throwing strikes but missing. Tenner trying to control but Dean is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tenner passes Dean's left leg - he's now in half guard. Dean is doing well to control the position and prevent Tenner from advancing to side control. Tenner is trying to control the action in half guard but Dean is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Tenner is stalling here. Dean is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Tenner seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Dean has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Dean controls the position from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tenner is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Dean tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Dean has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Tenner clinches with his opponent.
Tenner has Dean pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Tenner pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Dean tumbling to the mat - Tenner dives into Dean's guard. Tenner trying to control but Dean is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tenner would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Tenner wants to control from the top but Dean keeps moving. James Tenner has got the better of the ground game so far. Tenner controls the pace of the fight for a moment. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
James Tenner has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Tenner keeps the fight on the outside. Tenner closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Dean's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Tenner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Myron Dean's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Tenner throws a series of punches but Dean moves out of range. Tenner clinches with his opponent.
Dean jumps guard but Tenner turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Dean's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Dean takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Tenner feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Tenner wants to get up but he can't break Dean's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Tenner takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Dean has his hands on Tenner's head, controlling the position. Dean wants to sweep here but Tenner controlling him for the moment.

Tenner must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Tenner wants to pass the guard but Dean is keeping the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Dean is trying to force a seperation but Tenner has the dominant position. Tenner pulls guard successfully.
Dean engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Tenner is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Myron Dean. Tenner ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dean moves away. Tenner looking to score a takedown here. Dean is defending well but Tenner drives through and ends up in Dean's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dean is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Tenner is controlling him. Dean looking for a sweep. Not yet Dean, not yet. Dean working for a triangle but Tenner defends it easily.

Myron Dean has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! James Tenner is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The ref stands the fighters back up. James Tenner was stalling too much, according to the referee. Tenner thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Dean if he has to take too many more of those.
And that's the end of the fight! James Tenner comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Tenner has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
