PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Marleau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lewis Rampage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Lewis Rampage was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lewis Rampage!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Ron Honeybunn and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marleau tries for a takedown but Rampage circles away easily

and Rampage counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Marleau!
Rampage cracks Marleau with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Marleau is trying to get back to half guard.
Rampage trying to control the position but Marleau is working away.
Marleau trying to remain calm as Rampage controls from the top position.

We've been hearing good reports from Marleau's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Rampage really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Marleau. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close round but I would say that Patrick Marleau will probably get the nod.
