Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Satoshi Tanahashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Pick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Tanahashi might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Blood Stain Child - Stargazer. Satoshi Tanahashi had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pick throws a solid leg kick but Tanahashi takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Pick.
Tanahashi takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Pick jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Pick buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Tanahashi displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Pick throws out the jab.
Pick uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Tanahashi.
Tanahashi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pick connects with a leg kick. Tanahashi looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pick ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Tanahashi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pick looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Pick sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Tanahashi's guard.
Pick content to control rather than advance.
Tanahashi is looking to improve his position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pick throws a hook but Tanahashi blocks it.
Tanahashi throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Pick uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Tanahashi.

and Pick counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

enabling Tanahashi to counter with a crisp jab.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Tanahashi has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Pick.

Tanahashi loads up on a big right hand but Pick slips the punch.

Pick scores with a one two! Tanahashi had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Pick stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pick wants it to stay on the feet.
