Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jeffrey Eaton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Salazar Romello (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Salazar Romello is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jeffrey Eaton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Salazar Romello!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romello avoids the body shot from Eaton.
Eaton lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Romello circles away quickly and effectively.
Eaton misses with a head kick.
Eaton misses the body punch
and Romello counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Eaton lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Salazar Romello seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Eaton scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Romello is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Eaton is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Romello is looking for a sweep. Eaton is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Romello is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Eaton defends well.

Eaton got a little sloppy there for a moment and Romello has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Eaton has managed to get both his arms back between Romello's legs - danger averted.

Eaton is looking to work some ground and pound but Romello has wrist control.
Eaton will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Eaton gets to his feet - Romello follows without any prompting.

Romello looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Eaton!
Romello tries to score with some ground and pound. Eaton controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Eaton is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Eaton wants to control but Romello postures up.

Romello decides to stand back up. Romello steps back and let's Eaton get back to his feet.

Romello closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Romello is looking to break free of the clinch but Eaton has double underhooks.
Eaton is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Romello is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Eaton can't fight it off and eventually Romello manages to take the fight to the floor. Eaton looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Eaton is looking for a triangle but Romello pushes his legs off easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Romello can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Eaton is looking to escape.

Eaton throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Eaton gets caught flat footed, as Romello shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Salazar Romello has got the better of the ground game so far.
Eaton is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Eaton is looking for a triangle but Romello pushes his legs off easily.

Eaton pushes Romello off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Romello drives through with a takedown into Eaton's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Romello moves into the clinch successfully.
Eaton looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Romello pulls guard successfully.
Romello is pulling down on Eaton's head. It's preventing any offense from Eaton, at least for the moment.
Romello is trying to hold Eaton in close to prevent damage but Eaton has managed to pass into half guard.

Romello makes his way to full guard, as Eaton worked for a kimura.

Eaton wants to stand and escape but instead Romello has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Eaton tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Romello gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Eaton scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Salazar Romello showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Romello moves into range and clinches up with Eaton.
Eaton has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Eaton wants to get back to striking at distance but Romello won't allow it.

Romello jumps into guard, dragging Eaton to the mat.
Romello has control of Eaton's left arm, preventing Eaton from doing any damage.

Eaton stands up from Romello's guard - Eaton perhaps looking for a knockout.

Romello closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Romello lands in his opponent's guard.
Romello takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Eaton is trying to keep Romello in close.
Romello looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Eaton is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Eaton wants to stand and escape but Romello is having none of it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Eaton tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Romello feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
