Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Salvatore Cole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Reslic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Salvatore Cole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jimmy Reslic!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Sergei Dronov and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reslic fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Cole tries for a takedown but Reslic sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Reslic misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Reslic gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Cole throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Cole tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Reslic just stands there and leans against the cage.
Cole tries to pull guard but Reslic holds him up against the cage and eventually Cole drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Salvatore Cole. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Reslic throws a knee to the head but misses.
Reslic is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Reslic stalling.
Cole tries for a takedown. No joy.
Cole tries to pull guard but Reslic forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Reslic turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Reslic wants to stand but Cole has his arm trapped.
Reslic throws a strike aimed at the side of Cole's head but Cole avoids it well.

Cole prevents Reslic from improving position.
Cole is not content to let Reslic control the position.
Reslic might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cole haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Reslic goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Cole rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Reslic's guard! Nice work there by Cole!
Cole could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jimmy Reslic was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Cole fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Reslic avoids it really well and circles away.
Jimmy Reslic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Reslic throws a sloppy head kick and Cole moves out of range easily.

Reslic moves in looking to clinch but Cole pushes him off.
Reslic tries to work over Cole's front leg with a kick but Cole checks it.

Reslic closes the distance and pushes Cole back into the cage.
Cole tries to pull guard but Reslic forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
A nice left hand lands by Reslic.


It looks like Salvatore Cole has been cut.

Reslic breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Reslic moves into the clinch.
Cole fails to pull guard.
Cole is breathing heavily.
Reslic throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Coles head.
Cole jumps guard but Reslic turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Cole wants to break the clinch but can't.

Reslic jumps into guard, dragging Cole to the mat.
Reslic is trying to control the position but Cole postures up.
Cole might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cole postures up in Reslic's guard and throws a big left but Reslic blocks it.
Reslic wants to sweep but no luck.
Reslic is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jimmy Reslic hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Reslic pivots, looking for a leg kick but Cole is out of range and Reslic settles back down.
Reslic is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Cole tries to clinch up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cole gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Cole drives through with a takedown into guard.

Cole has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Reslic wants to get up but he can't break Cole's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Reslic must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Reslic drives through and clinches with Cole against the cage.

Cole is fighting off a takedown attempt but Reslic is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Cole to the mat. Cole regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Cole enables Reslic to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Cole manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Reslic can do anything to dispel that myth.

Reslic lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Reslic passes Cole's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Cole is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Reslic is trying to control the action in half guard but Cole is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Cole wants to control but Reslic is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Salvatore Cole has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Reslic shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Cole napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Reslic. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
The strikes coming from Reslic are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Reslic happy to just control the position for now.
Cole takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Well Reslic has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
