The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Daniel Cesar and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnes throws a right and a left that both miss.
Lesnar misses with a series of wild punches.
Lesnar tries to close the distance and clinch up but Barnes swats him away and circles back towards the center.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lesnar looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Lesnar gets caught flat footed, as Barnes shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Barnes moves nicely into side control.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lesnar can do anything to dispel that myth.

Barnes connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Lesnar some visible discomfort.

Lesnar takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Barnes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Check out the look on Barnes's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Lesnar really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barnes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Barnes works to advance to full mount. Lesnar defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

The referee warns Lesnar that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Barnes fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Lesnar is in a horrible position here. Barnes smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Barnes postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lesnar looks a forlorn figure.

Barnes pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Barnes is landing with some decent strikes but Lesnar is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Barnes cracks Lesnar with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
