Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Scott Dempsey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cole Healey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Healey comes into a darkened arena with his song building. slutter kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Cole Healey will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Scott Dempsey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cole Healey! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dempsey misses with a head kick.
Dempsey misses with a low kick.
Dempsey drives through and clinches with Healey against the cage.
Dempsey gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Healey.
Healey is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Dempsey pulls him back up using the underhooks. Dempsey is pressed up against the cage. Healey has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dempsey down to the mat. Dempsey avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Scott Dempsey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cole Healey. Healey looks winded! Dempsey closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Healey's guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Dempsey controls from within his opponent's guard. Dempsey really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Dempsey lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Healey has momentary wrist control but Dempsey slips an elbow through the middle. Dempsey content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Dempsey is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Healey tries to strike from the bottom.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Healey has momentary wrist control but Dempsey slips an elbow through the middle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dempsey postures up and lands a big shot to Healey's brow. Dempsey content to stall in guard here. Dempsey is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Dempsey slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Scott Dempsey just wasn't active enough. Dempsey bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Dempsey takes a little break here. Healey wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Dempsey is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Healey is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dempsey lands some shots froms side control. Dempsey looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Dempsey tries to stand but Healey is controlling his head. Dempsey in side control, just content to control the action for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dempsey wants to control but Healey is keeping him busy. Dempsey is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Healey is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Dempsey wants to stand but Healey has his arm trapped. Dempsey trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Healey has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Dempsey looks up at the clock and then as Healey takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Dempsey smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Dempsey wants to stand but Healey is controlling his arm. Dempsey scoring with punches and elbows. Dempsey avoids the strikes from the bottom by Healey. Dempsey works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Healey is trying to escape the position but Dempsey is controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dempsey is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Healey has escaped the position, nice work there. Dempsey is looking to take a break and control but Healey is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Dempsey lands a nice forearm strike. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Dempsey controlling from side mount. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dempsey tries to stand but Healey controls the position and pulls Dempsey into his guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Scott Dempsey dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Healey tries to keep at a distance but Dempsey has taken the fight into the clinch. Dempsey breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Healey looks for a takedown but Dempsey sprawls well. Healey gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Dempsey counters by moving into the clinch. Healey trying to stall but Dempsey improves his position.
Healey is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Dempsey gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Scott Dempsey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cole Healey. Dempsey has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Healey uses from the top position. Healey is breathing heavily. Dempsey seems keen to control Healey's posture. Healey won't allow Dempsey to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dempsey pulls Healey in close to prevent any damage.
Scott Dempsey has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Dempsey moves into the clinch successfully.
Healey looking for a takedown. Dempsey turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Scott Dempsey overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Healey is trying to escape the position but Dempsey is controlling the position. Dempsey working the head and body with strikes. Healey is being controlled here. Dempsey working the head with strikes. Healey is working to avoid the ground and pound but Dempsey connects with a decent elbow. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dempsey is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Healey gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dempsey controlling the pace for now. Dempsey is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Healey to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Healey shrugs it off. The referee warns Healey that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Dempsey lands a big elbow. Dempsey connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Healey is rocked! Healey taking shots to the head. Healey is still in real trouble! Can Dempsey finish him? Dempsey is landing with some decent strikes but Healey is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Healey is looking to improve his position but Dempsey isn't that keen on the idea. Dempsey controlling from the full mount. Dempsey is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Healey can do to turn this around?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Healey taking shots to the head. Dempsey takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Healey is desperately trying to improve his position but Dempsey has a good base and remains in mount. Dempsey lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Dempsey controlling from mount. Dempsey landing punches. Oooooh, big shot lands for Dempsey! Healey is hurt baaadly! Dempsey is firing away with more strikes - Healey is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
