Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sammy Hicks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Pierce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Sammy Hicks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Lucas Pierce!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Donald Grub and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pierce thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Hicks if he has to take too many more of those.
A low kick from Hicks is predictable there
and Pierce counters with a nice uppercut.
It looks like Sammy Hicks has been cut.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hicks stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Pierce.
Pierce scores with a sloppy right hand. Hicks should have avoided that one.
Hicks gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Hicks is rocked!
Pierce takes the fight into the clinch.
Oh Hicks is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Pierce misses with a punch to the body.
A right hook to the body lands for Pierce.
Hicks trying to land knees to the body.
Hicks seems to have got his legs back now.
I was talking to Hicks's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Pierce doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Pierce swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Pierce working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Pierce is trying to maintain a safe position but Hicks gets an underhook and turns Pierce into the cage.
Pierce dips a shoulder and cracks Hicks with a mighty uppercut! Hicks falls back against the cage and Pierce unloads with a barrage of strikes! Hicks is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Pierce screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lucas Pierce!
