Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Svend Karlsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franklin Schroeder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schroeder has chosen Enter Sandman as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Lou da Vinci and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karlsson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Schroeder circles away.
Schroeder throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Karlsson counters with a straight right hand.
Schroeder dips to his left and cracks Karlsson with an uppercut!
It looks like Svend Karlsson has been cut.
Karlsson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Karlsson is looking to take a break and control but Schroeder is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Karlsson is really struggling to control Schroeder but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Schroeder defending against the ground and pound.
The referee asks Karlsson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Karlsson prefers to stall for the moment though.
Schroeder wants to control but Karlsson postures up.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Svend Karlsson has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Schroeder throws a body shot but no joy.
Karlsson moves into range and clinches up with Schroeder.
Schroeder digs a right hand underneath Karlsson's ribcage. Karlsson let out a lung full of air as it connected.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Schroeder breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Schroeder lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Schroeder fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Karlsson manages to avoid it.

Karlsson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Karlsson dives in for a single leg takedown but Schroeder sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Karlsson is trying to stall.
Schroeder drops Karlsson onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Karlsson is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Karlsson is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Schroeder lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Oh Karlsson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Schroeder lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Karlsson to his knees! Schroeder keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Franklin Schroeder!
A relieved looking Franklin Schroeder thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
