Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rhys Parry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rhys Parry will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Alvarez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rhys Parry! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, John Kavanagh and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Parry gets caught flat footed, as Alvarez shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Alvarez pushes down on Parry's leg and manages to get into half guard. Parry is controlling Alvarez's trapped leg to prevent Alvarez from advancing to side control. Alvarez controlling the pace. Alvarez throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Parry to regain full guard. Alvarez trying to control the position from guard on top but Parry is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Alvarez stopping the sweep attempt from Parry. Alvarez throws a big right hand that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Parry working a defensive guard here.
Alvarez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Alvarez trying to control but Parry is working from the bottom. Alvarez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Parry throws the left hand but Alvarez avoids the punch easily. Alvarez shoots for a takedown but Parry saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Parry bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Parry swinging wildly here.
Alvarez moves out of range as Parry strikes. Parry lands a nice looking body shot.
Alvarez shoots in but Parry avoids the takedown attempt easily. Parry's coach down at Morbid Conditioning School $600 was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Parry's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Parry looks to throw the jab but Alvarez is out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alvarez takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Alvarez tries to close the distance and clinch but Parry swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Parry misses with a hook
and Alvarez counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Alvarez. Alvarez looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Alvarez throws a big elbow that misses. Parry working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Alvarez. Parry seems keen to control Alvarez's posture. Alvarez landing some decent shots from guard. Parry is trying to control the position but Alvarez postures up. Alvarez throwing strikes from guard but Parry blocks nicely. Alvarez tries to free his leg and advance position but Parry is retaining full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alvarez postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Alvarez lands a couple of decent looking shots. Parry keeping moving, preventing Alvarez from controlling successfully. Alvarez preventing the sweep. Alvarez wants to pass the guard but Parry is keeping the position. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Alvarez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Alvarez working some strikes from top position. Alvarez trying to control but Parry is working from the bottom. Parry is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Alvarez wants to control from the top but Parry keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alvarez lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Parry wants to sweep here but Alvarez controlling him for the moment. Alvarez wants to control from the top but Parry keeps moving. Parry keeping full guard, as Alvarez tries to pass. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Alvarez stands up over Parry, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Alvarez trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Alvarez trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Alvarez dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Parry works Alvarez's body with a nice hook. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Alvarez lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Parry has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Parry and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Alvarez is looking to chop away at Parry's legs. Parry throws a shot to the body.
Parry lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
It looks like James Alvarez has been cut. Rhys Parry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Parry lands with a right that hurts Alvarez. Alvarez looks to clinch but Parry throws a short knee that drops Alvarez. This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch and Knee). Rhys Parry! The defeated James Alvarez had this to say: 'I may have lost but I will be back stronger.'.
