The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sandoval looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Sandoval pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sandoval tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Stevens tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sandoval swivels and escapes.

Stevens throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Sandoval shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Stevens with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Sandoval to score with a decent uppercut.

Stevens takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Stevens will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Sandoval avoids a kick to the body.
Stevens looks to throw the jab but Sandoval is out of range.
Sandoval displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Stevens.

Sandoval lunges at Stevens with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Stevens's hand.
Stevens has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
