Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Ben Cohen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Gavin Phillip!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cohen fails with a takedown attempt.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Phillip.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Cohen throws Phillip to one side and escapes!
Cohen could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Phillip throws a front kick aimed at Cohen's knee but Cohen avoids it well.

Phillip closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Phillip tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Phillip is working for a kimura but Cohen is defending it quite comfortably.
Cohen has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Phillip is working away from the top position though.

Cohen tries to roll over but Phillip keeps him under control.
Phillip is looking to take a break and control but Cohen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Phillip lands a nice short elbow.

Phillip is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Cohen is just riding it out for now. Phillip eventually gives up the hold.
Cohen pushes Phillip off looking to stand but Phillip dives back in and keeps control.

Phillip throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Cohen tries to kick Phillip off but Phillip keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Phillip scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Phillip throwing shots but Cohen is blocking nicely.
Phillip missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Phillip not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Cohen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Phillip is looking for submissions but instead, Cohen has regained full guard.

Cohen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Cohen has control of Phillip's left arm, preventing Phillip from doing any damage.
Cohen wants to stand but Phillip is controlling the position.

Phillip is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Cohen is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Cohen has escaped and now he's on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Phillip wants to stand and escape but Cohen is having none of it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Phillip is wriggling around but Cohen manages to pass to half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Cohen in particular looking to stall.
Cohen looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Phillip with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Cohen closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Phillip tightens his grip and picks Cohen up, before dumping him to the ground. Cohen manages to land in guard.
Phillip looking to sit in guard and control but Cohen gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Cohen missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Cohen not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Cohen stops Phillip from standing up.
Gavin Phillip has got the better of the ground game so far.
Cohen is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Phillip is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Phillip lands a two punch combo.
Phillip throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Cohen keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Phillip's efforts to push away.
Phillip tries to break free but Cohen pushes him back against the cage.

Phillip wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Cohen has him pressed against the cage.
Cohen prevents Phillip from breaking the clinch.
Phillip looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Phillip tries to break the clinch but Cohen is controlling the position.
Phillip is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Phillip wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Cohen has him pressed against the cage.
Phillip wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Cohen keeps control of Phillip as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Phillip lands a takedown into guard.
Phillip is breathing heavily.
Phillip won't allow Cohen to sweep him here.

Cohen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Phillip gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cohen is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Cohen is looking to cinch up a triangle. Phillip throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Cohen's body to avoid the submission. Cohen has instead reached around Phillip's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Cohen arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Ben Cohen!
