The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson fails with a takedown attempt.
Yager scores with a jab to the jaw.
Yager misses with a combination
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Yager feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Johnsons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Yager darts in trying to clinch
and Johnson counters with a head kick. That will keep Yager thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Johnson moves forwards but Yager connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Johnson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Yager swivels and escapes.

Yager is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Yager lands with a hook. Johnson tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
A looping hook to the body misses from Yager. Johnson does a little dance to reset his feet.
Yager tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Yager as he avoids it easily.
Yager's corner calls for a 1-2. Yager obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Yager throws a series of punches but Johnson avoids them all with ease.

and Johnson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Johnson blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Johnson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Yager gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Yager makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Johnson is looking to take this one to the mat.

Yager has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Yager gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Johnson.

Johnson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Yager avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Johnson closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Johnson shoots in looking for a takedown. Yager tries to sprawl out of it but Johnson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Yager manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Johnson doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Yager wants to get up but he can't break Johnson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Yager has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Johnson is proving hard to escape from.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Johnny Yager wasn't active enough on the ground.

Yager lands a left and a right that send Johnson crashing to the mat, dazed. Yager thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Johnson is rocked!
Johnson doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Yager fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Johnson to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Johnson looks to clinch but Yager throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Johnson taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
