Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Floyd Johnson!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jozef Jankowski!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson lands with a nice body punch.
Johnson scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
A swing and a miss from Johnson.
Jankowski checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Johnson has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Johnson tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Jankowski is able to avoid easily.

Johnson lands a big head kick that sends Jankowski tumbling to the mat! Johnson takes a step backwards and waves Jankowski back to his feet - he wants the finish!


It looks like Jozef Jankowski has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Jankowski drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Johnson is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jankowski accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Jankowski throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Johnson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jankowski tries to free his leg and advance position but Johnson is retaining full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Johnson takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Johnson attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Jankowski fails with a takedown attempt.
Johnson does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Crunch! Johnson slams his shin into Jankowski's torso.
Jankowski's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Johnson connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Jankowski scrambles back to his feet.

and Jankowski counters with a takedown into side control.
Johnson is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Johnson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Jankowski drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jankowski jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Johnson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Johnson wants it to stay on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Johnson looks for the body kick but Jankowski saw that one coming.

Johnson throws a leg kick but Jankowski sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Johnson fails to land with a series of punches.
Jankowski closes this distance looking for a takedown but Johnson circles away.
Jankowski has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Johnson misses with a low kick.

Johnson misses with a straight right.

Jankowski changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Johnson tries to avoid it but Jankowski manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Johnson to the ground. Johnson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Johnson tries to land a front kick but Jankowski steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Jankowski shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Johnson defends it nicely.
Floyd Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jozef Jankowski.
Jankowski ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Johnson misses with a head kick.
Johnson will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

and Jankowski counters with a shoot takedown. Johnson fights it but they end up in guard.

Jankowski is fighting to break Johnson's control of his arms but Johnson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Jankowski might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Johnson haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Jankowski chips away with some ground and pound.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jozef Jankowski hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Jankowski misses with a takedown attempt - Johnson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Jankowski uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Johnson.
Jankowski tries to score a power double leg takedown but Johnson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jankowski somewhat.
Nice takedown defense from Johnson. No joy for Jankowski on that attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jozef Jankowski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Jankowski moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

A clash of legs there as Jankowski blocks the low kick.

Johnson lands a left and a right that send Jankowski crashing to the mat, dazed. Johnson thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Johnson bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Jankowski takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Johnson lands with a nice body kick.
Johnson looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Johnson lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Jankowski up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Johnson from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Jankowski's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Floyd Johnson!

Floyd Johnson very nearly forgot to thank Union Fight Gear amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
