Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kagen Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Big J Smiles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smiles has chosen Smile Like You Mean It as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Big J Smiles was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knight darts in looking for a takedown but Smiles gets double underhooks and turns Knight into the cage.
Knight scores with a nice hook to the head.
Knees in the clinch landing for Smiles.
Smiles with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Knight gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Knight seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Smiles does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Knight tries to pass the half guard into mount. Smiles knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Knight is trying to control. Smiles wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Knight is looking for a kimura but Smiles is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Knight to get the leverage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Knight trying to control the pace.
Knight lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Knight not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Knight trying to control the action but Smiles is working from the bottom.
Knight stops Smiles from getting back to his feet.

Knight is trying to control the action in half guard but Smiles is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smiles is trying to stand up here but Knight is controlling him well.

Knight thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Smiles's head.

Knight is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Knight has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Smiles has hold of Knight's hands but Knight slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Knight prevents Smiles from standing back up.
Smiles really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Knight. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Knight is working for a submission of some sort.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Knight lands a nice short elbow.

Smiles looks like he's trying to stand up.

Knight perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Smiles is in trouble now - Knight has advanced to mount!
Knight pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Knight unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Smiles wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Knight celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
