Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Salazar Romello! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Soichi Nishida! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nishida takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Nishida avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Romello uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Nishida. Nishida misses with a head kick.
An inside leg kick from Nishida misses. Romello throws a head kick that misses and Nishida counters with a nice double leg into guard. Romello keeping moving, preventing Nishida from controlling successfully. Nishida engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Romello working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nishida doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nishida manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Nishida lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Romello tries to land a front kick but Nishida steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Nishida closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Romello to the mat! Romello manages to get full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nishida trying to control but Romello is working from the bottom. Romello can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Nishida controls the pace. Nishida stands up from guard. Let's bang! Romello really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Nishida misses with a low kick as Romello jumps back. Romello fails with a takedown attempt. Nishida has closed the distance and engaged Romello in a clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nishida's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Soichi Nishida dominated that round. That's time! Romello's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Nishida. Nishida throws a leg kick and Romello counters with a good low kick that Nishida was not able to check. Romello on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Nishida scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Romello is rocked! Nishida throws a sloppy head kick and Romello moves out of range easily. Oh Romello is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Nishida closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Romello has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Nishida is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Nishida is struggling to control the position. Romello breaks from the clinch.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nishida stuffs the takedown. Nishida clinches.

Romello lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Romello tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nishida sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Romello somewhat. Nishida rushes Romello and presses him up against the cage. Nishida is looking to break free of the clinch but Romello has double underhooks. Nishida attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Nishida tries to clinch up but Romello circles away and keeps his distance. Romello moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Nishida misses with a head kick.

Nishida decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nishida drops an elbow to the side of Romello's head. Nishida blocks the strikes from Romello.
Nishida decides to return to a standing position. Nishida throws a sloppy head kick and Romello moves out of range easily. Nishida moves into the clinch. Romello is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Nishida to keep the fight standing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nishida looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Nishida manages to break the clinch.
Romello tries to clinch and Nishida counters with a lovely straight right hand! Nishida throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Romello takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Nishida scores with a punch to the head. Nishida scores with a slapping inside leg kick. No joy there for Nishida, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Romello gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Nishida to score an easy takedown into full guard. Nishida has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Romello is proving hard to escape from.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nishida pushes down on Romello's leg and manages to get into half guard. Nishida looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nishida decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nishida misses with a head kick.
Salazar Romello has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Soichi Nishida is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Nishida lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Romello has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Romello and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
And that's the end of the fight! Soichi Nishida comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Nishida has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
