Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joel Marquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kain Rehel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joel Marquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kain Rehel!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rehel stuffs the takedown.
The fight stays on the outside here - Marquez looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Marquez misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Marquez tries a low kick but Rehel avoids it.

Rehel shoots in and bounces Marquez off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Rehel passes Marquez's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Rehel is stalling here. Marquez is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Rehel seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Marquez has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Rehel is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Marquez has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Marquez is staying tight to Rehel's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Marquez looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Rehel is avoiding damage well.
Marquez remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Rehel sneaks out the side door and pushes Marquez away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Rehel closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Marquez is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rehel's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rehel's back!
Marquez tries to keep control of the position but Rehel is staying busy.
Marquez is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Rehel is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Rehel is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet.

Marquez throws a sloppy head kick and Rehel moves out of range easily.

Rehel fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Marquez sprawls well initially but Rehel persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Rehel throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Marquez to regain full guard.
Marquez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Marquez has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Rehel is proving hard to escape from.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rehel utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Rehel wants to get back to his feet but Marquez is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Joel Marquez wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Marquez pulls out of a head kick attempt.

A close round but Kain Rehel will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Rehel shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kain Rehel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Rehel throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Marquez tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Rehel is in Marquez's guard.

Marquez throws a lazy right hand but Rehel sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Marquez gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Rehel postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Marquez wants to get up but he can't break Rehel's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Rehel is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Marquez presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Rehel has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Marquez is trying to keep an underhook but Rehel manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Marquez lands with a few short shots to the body.
Rehel is looking to take a break and control but Marquez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Rehel throws an elbow but Marquez slips to the side and avoids it well.

Kain Rehel comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Rehel winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
