PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Forest Lucas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Forest Lucas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jordan James!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lucas shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. James defends it nicely.

and James counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

James drives through and clinches with Lucas against the cage.

James jumps into guard, dragging Lucas to the mat.
James has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Jordan James has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Lucas is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because James is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jordan James hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
James dives in for a single leg takedown but Lucas sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

James feints and as Lucas raises his hands in defense, James changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

James not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
James has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Lucas is proving hard to escape from.

Well James has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
