Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mickel The (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Denis Turk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mickel The!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Denis Turk!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Marco Blurström and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The darts in trying to clinch

and Turk counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Turk prevents The from getting back to his feet.
Turk stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. The swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Turk throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as The works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Turk's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Turk is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The looking to control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Turk's corner is telling him to maintain position.
My spies in LOD Gym Now with StandUP inform me that Turk has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Turk drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Turk jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Turk sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed The's guard.
The keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Turk trying to control from half guard but The is working away.

Turk is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. The doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Turk.
Still in half guard, Turk seems content to control.
Turk tries to pass to full mount but The defends it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Turk is working for a kimura but The is defending it quite comfortably.
Turk prevents The from standing back up.
Turk scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Turk moves nicely into side control.

Turk decides to stand back up.
The slips under a jab from Turk.

and Turk counters with a single leg into guard. The didn't expect that.
The seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Turk is looking to work some ground and pound but The has wrist control.
The keeping full guard, as Turk tries to pass.

Turk distracts The with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Turk passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Turk tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Turk has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Turk working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Turk in side control lands a decent elbow.

Turk tries for a kimura but The is defending well.

Turk is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. The knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Turk working the head and body with strikes.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Turk in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Denis Turk dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

and Turk counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in The's guard now.

Turk connects with a couple of short punches.
Oh The is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Turk stands and throws The's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Turk is trying to get an arm triangle but The is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Turk in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... The is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
