Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ice Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man comes to the cage accompanied by Shadow on the Sun. Jones is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: what's new pussycat. Ice Man has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

22 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tom Jones! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Luis Engracia and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones doesn't manage to clinch there - Man circles away.
Jones displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Man throws out the jab. Man misses with a jab, cross combination.

Man swings widly with a right hand
and Jones counters by moving into the clinch. Jones tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Jones lands a right hand. Jones throws an elbow that misses.

Jones instigates a clinch. Man's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Jones drives through and clinches with Man against the cage.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Jones. Man blocks an uppercut.

Jones manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Man stops a takedown attempt from Jones.

Tom Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Man circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jones moves in looking to clinch but Man pushes him off. Jones darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Jones not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Jones throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Bluth Memorial Supergym inform me that Jones has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Jones thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Jones sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Man defending well though. Jones throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Man to regain full guard. Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Man is retaining full guard. Man avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Jones with a flurry of punches that miss. Jones is looking to work some ground and pound but Man has wrist control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jones postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Jones with a flurry of punches that miss. Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Man is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tom Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action!

We've been told by Man's head coaches at Franklin D. Bluth Memorial Supergym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Man swings for the body but Jones moves out of range.

Man scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Man paws at him with a jab and circles away. Man will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jones shoots for a takedown but Man saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Jones tries to clinch but fails miserably and Man cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Jones is rocked! Man throws an overhand right that lands on Jones's shoulder, as Jones tries to avoid the shot. Jones is still on wobbly legs! Can Man finish him? Jones slips under a jab from Man. Jones seems to have recovered his senses. Man leaves Jones with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Man lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jones circles away quickly and effectively.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Man manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Jones throws a wild hook but Man just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Jones gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Man raises his hands in celebration and walks away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:20 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ice Man! Ice Man retains his welterweight title! A very excited looking Ice Man made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
