Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between George Mengel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Huber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Huber has chosen Enter Sandman as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Mengel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mario Huber! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Saam Ante and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Huber looks for a takedown but Mengel sprawls well. Mengel displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Huber. Huber closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mengel to the mat! Mengel manages to get full guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Mengel wants to stand but Huber is controlling the position. Huber working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Huber throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Huber is working Mengel over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Huber thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Mengel is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Huber is looking to work some ground and pound but Mengel has wrist control. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Huber pushing down on Mengel's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mengel makes his way to full guard, as Huber worked for a kimura.
Huber works over Mengel with some ground and pound from guard. Huber has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Huber throws a big right hand that misses. Mengel wants to stand and escape but Huber is having none of it. Huber is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Mengel wants to stand but Huber is controlling the position. Huber with a nice head shot there. Huber cracks Mengel with a solid left hand. Huber throws a big right hand that misses. Huber postures up and lands a big shot to Mengel's brow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Huber lands a couple of decent looking shots. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Huber lands a couple of digs. Huber scoring with punches to the head and body. Huber landing some decent shots from guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Huber throws a big right hand that misses. Huber trying to control but Mengel is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Huber passes Mengel's left leg - he's now in half guard. Huber is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Mengel taking some punishment here, with Huber in his half guard. Mengel looks like he's trying to stand up.
Huber seems to be working for a kimura but Mengel defends the submission attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Huber seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Mengel is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Mario Huber! After the fight, Mario Huber was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
