Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tomas Romero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tim Brazil!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brazil looks for a takedown but Romero sprawls well.
Romero stuffs the takedown attempt from Brazil. Brazil gets slowly back to his feet.

Brazil has managed to clinch.
Brazil blocks a body shot from Romero.
Brazil tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Brazil drops down looking for an ankle pick but Romero pulls his leg out and moves away.
Tomas Romero has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tim Brazil.
Brazil misses with a takedown attempt - Romero sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Brazil shoots for a double leg takedown but Romero sprawls well. He's pushed Brazil's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Brazil throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Romero dives in and grabs Brazil's left leg, looking for a takedown. Brazil pushes down on Romero's head and hops out.

and Romero cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Brazil will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

It looks like Tomas Romero has been cut.

Brazil shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Romero as he jumps to the side.

and Romero counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Brazil moves to clinch but Romero breaks away
and Romero counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Romero stuffs the takedown.
Romero keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Brazil scores with a one two! Romero had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Romero shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Brazil is trying to defend but Romero finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Romero is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Romero will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Romero thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Romero sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Brazil defending well though.
Brazil wants to improve his position but Romero is controlling well.
Brazil has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Romero is working away from the top position though.

Romero postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Brazil to stand up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Brazil shoots in but no luck this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tomas Romero will probably get the nod.

Tim Brazil seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brazil shoots in but Romero avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Romero gets to his feet. Brazil looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Brazil tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Romero just stands there and leans against the cage.

Brazil should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Brazil closes the distance but Romero moves to the side
and Romero counters with a nice low kick that buckles Brazil's knee momentarily.
Brazil misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Brazil misses with a takedown attempt
and Romero counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Brazil shoots and misses
and Romero cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Romero shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Brazil manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Romero lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Tomas Romero overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Brazil takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Romero lands a nice short elbow.
Romero wants to stand but Brazil has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Romero has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Romero changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Brazil looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Brazil takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Brazil on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Romero is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Brazil is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Romero tries for a kimura but Brazil is defending well.

Romero decides to stand back up. Romero steps back and let's Brazil get back to his feet.
Brazil throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Romero's waist but Romero gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Brazil off to one side.

Romero stands and steps away. Brazil gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Romero wants a takedown but no success here.
Tim Brazil has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Tomas Romero is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Brazil has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Romero is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tomas Romero showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Romero has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
