Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Philip Pendred (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Philip Pendred! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pendred fails with the takedown. Pendred misses with a body punch
and Jones counters with a one-two to the body. Pendred lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Horrible takedown attempt by Pendred or perhaps it was just good defense by Jones, which made it look bad. Pendred moves into the clinch successfully.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jones wants to break free but Pendred has control.
Jones has had enough of the clinch but Pendred keeps him there for the moment. Pendred misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Jones.
Jones manages to break the clinch.
Pendred shoots in for a takedown but Jones shows good takedown defense. Jason Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Philip Pendred. Sloppy strikes from Jones. Those never looked like landing. A head kick misses from Pendred. Pendred tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jones defends well and Pendred ends up having to push Jones into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Jones breaks from the clinch.
Pendred goes for a double leg but Jones avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Jones continues to drive forward.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pendred tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jones smiles and moves away.
Pendred shoots in and drives through. Jones sprawls well. Pendred looks winded! Pendred is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jones sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Pendred has a takedown stuffed. Jones misses with a series of wild punches.
Pendred throws a right hand that Jones ducks under and follows up with a left that Jones also avoids with ease. Pendred tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jones manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Jones misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jones scores with a shot to the body.
Jones connects with a right hand. Pendred shakes it off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jones stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Jones connects with a stiff jab that staggers Pendred - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jason Jones!
