Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Harbor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Average Joe! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Konstantin Menshow and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A leg kick checked by Harbor. Joe throws out a leg kick but Harbor moves out of range and Joe only half commits. Harbor cracks Joe with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Joe looks to land a left hand but Harbor moved out of range nicely. Harbor decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Harbor not landing any meaningful shots this time. Harbor thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Harbor has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Joe trying to hold on to Harbor's head to control him but Harbor postures up.
Harbor is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Joe keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Harbor controlling the action here. Harbor trying to control from half guard but Joe is working away. Harbor definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harbor is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Harbor is controlling the pace.
Harbor has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Harbor tries to pass to full mount but Joe defends it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Harbor is working for a kimura here but Joe manages to reverse the position and he's now in Harbor's guard.
Joe throws a strike but Harbor rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Harbor missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Harbor looking to pass the guard. Joe keeping moving, preventing Harbor from controlling successfully. Joe not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Average Joe. No luck with that takedown attempt from Harbor. Harbor throws an overhand right that lands on Joe's shoulder, as Joe tries to avoid the shot. Joe throws a big shot that misses. Harbor bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Joe is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Harbor's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Harbor not landing any meaningful shots this time. Joe trying to control but Harbor postures up.
Harbor is looking to advance position but Joe won't allow it. Harbor is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Joe has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Harbor looks to land a strike but Joe avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Joe working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Harbor. Harbor preventing the sweep. Harbor in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Harbor is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Harbor trying to control the position from guard on top but Joe is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Harbor engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Harbor here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. No luck with that takedown attempt from Harbor. A swing and a miss from Harbor. Harbor shoots in and bounces Joe off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Harbor wants to control from the top but Joe keeps moving. Harbor looking to sit in guard and control but Joe gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Harbor controls Joe momentarily but Joe frees himself. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Joe got a little sloppy there for a moment and Harbor has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Joe has managed to get both his arms back between Harbor's legs - danger averted.

Harbor working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Joe doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Joe manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Joe makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Harbor looking for a guillotine here but Joe defends easily.
Joe landing some decent shots from guard. Joe is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Harbor is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Harbor is looking for a triangle here but Joe uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Harbor gets back to half guard. Joe thows a huge punch but Harbor dodges it nicely.
Harbor has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Joe is working away from the top position though. Joe takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Joe trying to pass the guard but Harbor defending well. Harbor is looking to improve his position.

James Harbor dominated that second round. That's time! Harbor's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Joe scores with a jab. Harbor acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Joe feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Harbors jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Average Joe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Harbor throws a body shot but no joy. Harbor avoids a kick to the body.
Harbor takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Harbor closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Joe's guard. Joe is trying to keep Harbor in close.
Harbor stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Joe swivels though and keeps the full guard. Joe working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Harbor. Harbor looking to sit in guard and control but Joe gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Harbor looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Joe passes Harbor's left leg - he's now in half guard. Harbor tries to get to full guard but Joe has control of the leg. Joe is figuring out what he wants to do next. Harbor makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Harbor. Harbor is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Joe pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Harbor is keeping the position for now. Joe avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Joe is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Harbor has his foot on Joe's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Joe works his way back into a safe position though. This has been an exciting period of action! Joe keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Harbor's head. Harbor had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Joe defends it easily. Joe chips away with some ground and pound. Harbor trying to keep a closed guard but Joe is proving a slippery customer.

Joe looks to score some points with some ground and pound. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Joe looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
