Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoko Suna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yoko Suna told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike Thomas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Yoko Suna! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A looping hook to the body misses from Thomas. Suna does a little dance to reset his feet. Suna cracks Thomas with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
It looks like Mike Thomas has been cut. Suna fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Thomas manages to avoid it. A looping hook to the body misses from Suna. Thomas does a little dance to reset his feet. Suna missing with a left hand there. Thomas was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Yoko Suna seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fight stays on the outside here - Thomas looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Suna misses with a looping left. Suna takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Thomas misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Suna.
Suna tests Thomas's chin there with a solid looking shot. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Suna lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Suna tests Thomas's chin there with a solid looking shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Suna pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Suna lands with a straight right. Thomas didn't see that one coming. Thomas bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. A nice combination there by Suna.
Yoko Suna is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A combination from Suna does no damage. Thomas walks into a straight right hand from Suna. Thomas connects with a single shot there. Nice shot by Suna. Thomas slips under a jab from Suna. Suna looks to land a combination but Thomas avoids it well. Thomas showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Suna.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Suna fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Thomas looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Good exchange - Suna coming out on top.
Mike Thomas's cut is getting worse. Suna has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Suna misses with an uppercut. Suna lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Thomas circles away quickly and effectively. Thomas is looking to clinch but Suna is avoiding it.
Suna fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Thomas on the side of the head. A looping hook to the body misses from Thomas. Suna does a little dance to reset his feet. Thomas just misses with a punch to the body.

and Suna counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Suna looks to land a combination but Thomas avoids it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Suna throws a right and a left that both miss. A solid body kick from Thomas. Thomas bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Suna tries to improve position but can't. Suna takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Thomas lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. This has been an exciting period of action! Thomas looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Suna is avoiding damage well.

It looks like Yoko Suna has been cut. Thomas in side control, just content to control the action for now. Thomas has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Suna is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Thomas yanks on the arm and Suna is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Thomas.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mike Thomas! Our winner, Mike Thomas, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
