Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Caleb Herrera! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frankie Grabass! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Darius Henderson and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grabass throws a leg kick but Herrera sees it coming and checks it nicely. Grabass feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Grabass engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Grabass tries to stand but Herrera is controlling from the bottom. Grabass content to stall in guard here. Herrera knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Grabass on the ground. Herrera working a defensive guard here.

Frankie Grabass has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Grabass misses with a body shot.
Grabass drives through with a takedown into Herrera's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Grabass controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Grabass trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Herrera can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Grabass controls the pace.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Frankie Grabass hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Grabass gets a double leg takedown into Herrera's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Grabass in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Herrera is trying to keep Grabass in close.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Herrera is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Grabass controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Grabass trying to stand up but can't free himself from Herrera's guard. Grabass with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Grabass slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Frankie Grabass has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Grabass manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Herrera on his heels. He'll look to pass Herrera's guard now, I'm sure. Herrera can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Grabass controls the pace. Grabass slips nicely into half guard. Grabass passes to side control. Herrera is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Grabass creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Herrera seems a little lost for a moment, as Grabass dominates the positioning. Grabass cracks Herrera with a big elbow.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Grabass thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Grabass has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Grabass should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Grabass fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Herrera, pushing him back against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frankie Grabass dominated that round. That's time! Herrera's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Grabass throws a sloppy head kick and Herrera moves out of range easily. Grabass drives through and clinches with Herrera against the cage.
Herrera scores with an uppercut up the middle. Grabass drags the fight down to the ground.
Herrera missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Frankie Grabass has got the better of the ground game so far. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Grabass holds on and takes a little breather. Grabass controls Herrera momentarily but Herrera frees himself. Herrera has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Grabass is looking to sweep but instead, Herrera has passed into half guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Frankie Grabass hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Grabass shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Herrera napping and manages to drive through into side control! Grabass has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Herrera is not content to let Grabass control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Grabass moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Grabass trying to control the action but Herrera is working from the bottom.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Frankie Grabass hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Grabass displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Herrera.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Grabass gets a takedown into half guard. Grabass missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Grabass slows the pace down in half guard. Grabass wants to work for an arm triangle but Herrera is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Grabass performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Grabass tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Herrera. Grabass maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Herrera could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Grabass has cracked it and Herrera is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Grabass!
