Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Keijo Kovis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Lane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Keijo Kovis has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Keijo Kovis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chad Lane! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lane feints and as Kovis raises his hands in defense, Lane changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Kovis is wriggling around but Lane manages to pass to half guard.
Lane looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Lane stands up from half guard. Keijo Kovis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lane shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Lane controlling from mount. Kovis tries to control Lane's body but Lane pushes him off. Kovis squirms to his side and now Lane has his back! Kovis wants to control his opponent's hands but Lane gets his hands free. A bit of a pause in the action here. Lane controlling the positon. Kovis rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kovis is looking to improve his position.
Kovis is breathing heavily. Kovis taking some punishment here, with Lane in his half guard. Lane slows the pace down in half guard. Lane stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Kovis to get to his feet. Lane stalks Kovis and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Kovis's face. Kovis staggers backwards, shaken. Kovis doesn't manage to clinch there - Lane circles away.
Lane closes the distance and clinches. Kovis landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Lane wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Lane is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lane fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Lane has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kovis avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Kovis tries for a takedown. No joy.
Lane tightens his grip and picks Kovis up, before dumping him to the ground. Kovis manages to land in guard. Lane is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Lane controls the pace of the fight for a moment. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! I looks like Lane might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Lane preventing the sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lane looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Kovis is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Lane postures up.
Lane won't allow Kovis to sweep him here. Lane decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Lane cracks Kovis with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Kovis misses with a combination
and Lane counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Kovis wants to improve his position but Lane is controlling well.
Kovis manages to get to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kovis wants to improve his position but instead Lane has moved into half guard.
Lane is figuring out what he wants to do next. Lane stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Kovis to get to his feet. Kovis swats away the attempt to clinch by Lane. Lane scores with a takedown into Kovis's guard.As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lane is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Lane pushes down on Kovis's leg and manages to get into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chad Lane dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Lane gets the takedown into side control. Lane working away. Kovis is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Lane's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Lane takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Kovis moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Kovis keeping full guard, as Lane tries to pass. Lane stays in close to Kovis's body and controls the position. Kovis has momentary wrist control but Lane slips an elbow through the middle. Lane works over Kovis with some ground and pound from guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Lane seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lane accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kovis can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lane controls the pace. Lane gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Kovis fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kovis fails in his attempt to clinch. An inside leg kick lands from Lane. Kovis takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Kovis tries to clinch but Lane moves away and Lane counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Kovis! Lane controlling the position easily from mount. Kovis wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Lane.
Lane prevents Kovis from getting the reversal. Kovis manages to regain half guard. Good work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kovis punching from the bottom.
Lane wants to control but Kovis is keeping him busy. Kovis tries to get to full guard but Lane has control of the leg. Kovis is looking to control Lane's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kovis avoid being mounted? Kovis wants to control but Lane passes into side.
Lane controlling the position from side mount. Kovis struggling a bit here. Kovis is trying to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Kovis circles away from the clinch attempt.
Lane is looking to clinch. Lane drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kovis is looking for a sweep. Lane taking a breather here. Kovis tries to improve position but can't. Lane stands up and we're back to a striking position. Lane shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Lane controlling from mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kovis tries to lock up and control but Lane gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Lane has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lane controlling the position easily from mount. Lane working Kovis over with strikes here. Lane stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Lane changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kovis looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lane in side control, just content to control the action for now. Kovis throws Lane to one side and escapes! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kovis tries to clinch but fails miserably and Lane counters with a single leg into guard. Kovis didn't expect that. Kovis thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Kovis wants to hit a switch here but Lane passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Kovis there! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chad Lane showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Kovis with a lazy takedown attempt and Lane counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Lane passes to side control. Lane decides to stand back up. The fight stays on the outside here - Kovis looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Kovis scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Lane closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Kovis gets back to half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Lane in particular looking to stall. This has been an exciting period of action! Let's hope that Lane has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Kovis taking some punishment here, with Lane in his half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lane has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Kovis tries to get back to half guard but can't. Kovis is working hard here to advance position. Lane controlling the position easily from mount. Lane scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Lane punishing his opponent with strikes. Kovis regains half guard. Lane prevents Kovis from standing back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lane is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Kovis has managed to free his arm - good work. Lane uses his free foot to push down on Kovis's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Kovis. Lane looking to control and managing it successfully. Kovis really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Lane looking to finish Kovis with some ground and pound. This is bad for Kovis! Kovis is trying desperately to improve position. Lane controlling from mount. Kovis keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kovis tries to hold on but Lane pushes him away. Lane landing strikes from the mount and Kovis is in trouble! Kovis is trying desperately to improve position. Kovis gets back to half guard. Kovis moves into full guard.
Lane won't allow Kovis to get back to his feet. Lane decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kovis, up you get! Keijo Kovis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Horrible takedown by Kovis or perhaps it was just good defense by Lane which made him look bad. Lane drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kovis is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Lane is controlling him well. Kovis is looking for a sweep. Lane stands up and we're back to a striking position. Lane decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Lane decides to stand up. Kovis throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Kovis tries for a takedown but Lane circles away easily and Lane counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Keijo Kovis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kovis trying to hold on to Lane's head to control him but Lane postures up.
Kovis gets back to full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lane stands up over Kovis, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Keijo Kovis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kovis looking for a guillotine here but Lane defends easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Chad Lane comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Lane has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
