Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bonald Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lemy Waters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott comes to the cage accompanied by Hell's Bells. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bonald Scott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lemy Waters!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waters throws a body kick that misses.
Scott doesn't manage to clinch there - Waters circles away.

Scott shoots in and bounces Waters off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Scott cracks Waters with a solid left hand.
Scott trying to control but Waters is working from the bottom.

Waters has his foot on Scott's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Scott works his way back into a safe position though.
Scott trying to control the position from guard on top but Waters is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Our spies down at at Kelley Fighting Systems inform us that Waters has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Scott postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Scott looking to sit in guard and control but Waters gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Scott wants to sweep here but Waters controlling him for the moment.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Waters lands a couple of digs.
Waters postures up in Scott's guard and throws a big left but Scott blocks it.

Scott is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Waters wants to control from the top but Scott keeps moving.
Waters stands up over Scott, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Scott can't keep his opponent in guard - Waters advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Scott wants to improve his position but Waters is controlling well.
Waters drops an elbow to the side of Scott's head.
Scott moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Scott has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Waters can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Waters sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Scott's guard.

Waters frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Waters lands a couple of good shots and Scott has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Waters controlling well, preventing Scott from escaping the position.
Waters tries to get the hooks in deep but Scott pushed the leg off.
Waters throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Scott!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Waters lands punches and elbows.
Scott wants to get back to his feet.
Waters lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Scott hold on?!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Waters closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Scott's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Scott pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Waters swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Waters misses the shot to the body.
A left lands for Waters.
Scott ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Waters moves away.
Scott wants to clinch.
A left lands for Waters.
Scott shoots for a double leg takedown but Waters sprawls well. He's pushed Scott's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Waters tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Scott was well out of range. Poor timing from Waters.
Scott moves out of range of the body kick.

Scott misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Scott looks to land a right hand but Waters moved out of range.
Scott scores with a crisp jab that stopped Waters in his tracks.
Waters tries to land a front kick but Scott steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Scott throws a leg kick but Waters sees it coming and moves out of range.
Scott staying out of range there.
Scott will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Scott changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Waters looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Waters is looking for a sweep.
Scott will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Waters prevents Scott from improving position.
Waters regains half guard there - taking advantage of Scott's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Scott tries to pass the half guard into mount. Waters knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Waters is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Scott jumps into side control!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Waters does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Waters misses with a low kick.
Waters pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Waters throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Waters looks for the body kick but Scott saw that one coming.
Scott throws a right and a left that Waters avoids nicely.
Nice defenses there by Waters.

Waters is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Waters wants to finish this one by submission but Scott is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Waters.

Waters has the hooks in. Scott is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Waters has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Waters looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Scott with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Waters wants to take a breather but Scott is having none of it.

Waters throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Waters thows a huge punch but Scott dodges it nicely.
Waters working over Scott with some ground and pound. Scott looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Waters throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Waters connects with a nice short shot to Scott's temple.
Scott is staying active underneath Waters, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Lemy Waters comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Waters has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
