Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lime Lister (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alan Pitbull (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lime Lister!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alan Pitbull!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lister scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Pitbull is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Lister is looking for a kimura but Pitbull is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lister to get the leverage.
Lister stops Pitbull from getting back to his feet.
Pitbull wants to improve his position but Lister is controlling well.
Pitbull wants to control but Lister is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Lister is trying to control. Pitbull wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Pitbull tries to roll over but Lister keeps him under control.

Pitbull looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Pitbull works his way to full guard. Good work.
Pitbull looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Lister stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pitbull swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lister loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Pitbull looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Lister puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Pitbull pulls Lister in close to his closed guard and prevents Lister from doing any damage or advancing position.

Pitbull has his foot on Lister's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lister works his way back into a safe position though.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pitbull is on top in guard.
Pitbull wants to get up but he can't break Lister's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Pitbull wants to stand but Lister is controlling his posture from full guard.
Pitbull postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Pitbull tries to free his leg and advance position but Lister is retaining full guard.
Lister is pulling down on Pitbull's head. It's preventing any offense from Pitbull, at least for the moment.
Pitbull passes Lister's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pitbull is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lister sees it coming and defends easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pitbull wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lister keeps working.

Pitbull is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Pitbull thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Lister is trying to get back to full guard.
Pitbull is looking to take a break and control but Lister is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Pitbull wants to stand but Lister has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Pitbull missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lister has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pitbull is working away from the top position though.
Lister might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Lister stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Lister closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Pitbull's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Alan Pitbull will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Pitbull blocks a low kick nicely.
Lister tries to clinch but Pitbull moves out of range.
Nice sprawl there from Lister as Pitbull shoots in.
Lister throws out a loose jab but Pitbull uses good head movement to avoid it.
Lister looks to land a left hand but Pitbull moved out of range nicely.
Pitbull shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lister defends it nicely.

Lister feints and as Pitbull raises his hands in defense, Lister changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Pitbull wants to sweep here but Lister controlling him for the moment.

Pitbull escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lister gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Pitbull had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lister defends it easily.

Pitbull escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lister gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Lister slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Alan Pitbull showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Pitbull has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Lister finds it's way round the side to connect with Pitbull's head.
Lister throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Pitbull shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lister as he avoids it easily.

Lister closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Pitbull is looking to take this one to the mat.

Pitbull has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Lister uses from the top position.

You can see the frustration on Pitbull's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Pitbull working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Lister's thigh. Lister counters though and makes it back to full guard.

Pitbull in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Lister is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Pitbull drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lister manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Pitbull has Lister in his guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Alan Pitbull was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Lister has Pitbull up against the cage in a clinch.
I was talking to Lister's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Pitbull is trying to stall.
Pitbull tries to pull guard but Lister holds him up against the cage and eventually Pitbull drops back down to his feet.
Lime Lister has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alan Pitbull.
Lister lands on the inside with an uppercut.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lister will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Pitbull up against the cage.
