Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kylma Jaak! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jonathan Segal! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jaak throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Segal misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jaak on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Segal scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Segal pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jaak has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Segal. Segal takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Segal takes a swing at Jaak's ribcage but misses. Jaak on the wrong end of a nice jab. Segal closes the distance and lands a one-two.
It looks like Kylma Jaak has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jaak pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Segal lands the left hand. Jaak has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Steel Penn/Heavy Hands Gym in the buildup to the fight. Jaak misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jaak connects with a solid leg kick. Segal throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Segal has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Jaak throws a lazy uppercut
and Segal makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Jaak throws a sloppy head kick and Segal moves out of range easily. Segal fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Segal scores with a shot to the body.
Jaak is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Segal lands with a straight right. Jaak didn't see that one coming. Jaak misses with a straight left. Jaak misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Segal fails to land with a series of punches.
Kylma Jaak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jaak misses with a hook. Segal ducked under it nicely. Segal is looking to land body kicks. Jaak fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jaak on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Jaak takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Segal scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Segal looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Segal lands a big right hand that sends Jaak crashing to the mat! Segal stays standing though and waves Jaak back to his feet!
Jaak is rocked! Segal cracks Jaak with a left hook right on the temple and Jaak goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Segal lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Jaak is OK!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jonathan Segal! During a confident post fight interview, Jonathan Segal thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
