Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rufus Bond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Ransom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). William Ransom has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Rufus Bond's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rufus Bond!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, William Ransom!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ransom misses with a combination
and Bond counters with a stiff right hand.
Sloppy strikes from Ransom. Those never looked like landing.
Bond is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Bond drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Bond controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Bond will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Bond trying to control but Ransom is working from the bottom.
Bond knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ransom on the ground.
Bond is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ransom is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Ransom bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bond's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ransom seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Rufus Bond has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Ransom moves into the clinch successfully.
Bond really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bond wants to stall.
Bond tries to pull guard but Ransom forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Bond wants a takedown but no success here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Ransom works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Ransom trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Bond is pulling down on Ransom's head. It's preventing any offense from Ransom, at least for the moment.
Bond keeping full guard, as Ransom tries to pass.
Bond wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Ransom manages to pass to side control.
Ransom works his foot free and advances to mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee warns Bond that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Bond in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.


It looks like Rufus Bond has been cut.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ransom trying to control but Bond is having none of it.
Ransom lands a big elbow - Bond is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Bond is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). William Ransom!
