PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andraej Drakorov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eagles Giants (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andraej Drakorov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eagles Giants!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Giants throws a leg kick but Drakorov sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Drakorov throws a sloppy head kick and Giants moves out of range easily.
Drakorov misses the jab.
Drakorov ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Giants throws a good cross that connects.
Drakorov motions for Giants to come forward. Drakorov throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Drakorov looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Giants has closed the distance and engaged Drakorov in a clinch.
A body shot lands from Giants.
A head punch on the inside from Drakorov fails to land.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Giants tries to work over Drakorov's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Drakorov can't find room to land a body shot as Giants controls the action.

Giants ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Giants no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Giants looking to hit a scissor sweep but Drakorov is one step ahead there.
Drakorov throws a strike but Giants rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Giants trying to control the position from guard on top but Drakorov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Drakorov has his foot on Giants's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Giants works his way back into a safe position though.
Giants content to stall in guard here.
Giants in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Drakorov preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Giants scoring with punches to the head and body.
Drakorov wants to sweep here but Giants controlling him for the moment.
Giants wants to control from the top but Drakorov keeps moving.

Drakorov working for a triangle but Giants defends it easily.
Drakorov not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Giants wants to control from the top but Drakorov keeps moving.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Giants preventing the sweep.

Drakorov is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Giants won't allow Drakorov to sweep him here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Giants is looking to work some ground and pound but Drakorov has wrist control.
Drakorov keeping moving, preventing Giants from controlling successfully.

Giants got a little sloppy there for a moment and Drakorov has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Giants has managed to get both his arms back between Drakorov's legs - danger averted.
Drakorov has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Giants connects with a couple of short punches.
Giants cracks Drakorov with a solid left hand.
Giants postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Giants avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Giants wants to control from the top but Drakorov keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Drakorov has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Giants can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Giants got a little sloppy there for a moment and Drakorov has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Giants has managed to get both his arms back between Drakorov's legs - danger averted.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Giants throws a big right hand that misses.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Giants accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Giants throws a big elbow that misses.
Giants throws a strike but Drakorov rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Giants manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Giants blocks a body shot from Drakorov.
Still in the clinch, Giants scores with a nice short uppercut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eagles Giants dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Drakorov takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.


It looks like Andraej Drakorov has been cut.
A head kick from Giants lands but Drakorov takes it in his stride.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Giants avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Drakorov pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Giants tries to move into range but Drakorov moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Drakorov walks straight into a right hand from Giants - that's dropped him! Giants jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Drakorov from any more punishment! Drakorov complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Eagles Giants!
Andraej Drakorov spoke after the fight, saying 'Fucking Hell, Like to apologise to my camp for this god awful performance, I suck, I have no where to go after losing to a mediocre fighter like Wisk. Jeeesus, I'm a fucking disgrace and I'm off to top myself.'.
