Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 12 - 1, fighting out of New York, Rage Kootz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Don Walker! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kootz leaves Walker with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Kootz closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kootz lands in his opponent's guard. Walker looking to control but Kootz passes into half guard.
Walker tries to get to full guard but Kootz has control of the leg. Walker is still trying to improve position. Walker is trying to stand up here but Kootz is controlling him well. Kootz wants to free his trapped foot but Walker is holding on for dear life with his legs. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walker is looking to escape. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Walker is looking for a sweep. Kootz is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Kootz is controlling the pace.
Kootz is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Walker defends it well. Kootz is figuring out what he wants to do next.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Walker looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Walker wants to control but Kootz is keeping busy.
Kootz trying to mount his opponent but Walker defends it. Kootz prevents Walker from improving his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walker scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Kootz manages to mount him!
Kootz is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Walker is forced to tap! Great finish!

It seemed to go down pretty well. Don Walker was interviewed post fight and said 'I promise that I will continue to get better and give a great show'.
