Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Larry Regan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Keith Diaz! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, John Mangel and Ben Watson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz tries to clinch up but Regan circles away and keeps his distance. Diaz with a poor takedown and Regan counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Diaz's guard now. Regan slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Regan trying to control the position from guard on top but Diaz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Regan throws a big elbow that misses. Regan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Regan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Regan is working Diaz over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Regan wants to control from the top but Diaz keeps moving. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Regan wants to pass the guard but Diaz is keeping the position. Regan trying to control but Diaz is working from the bottom. Regan cracks Diaz with a solid left hand. Regan landing with the ground and pound. Diaz is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's one minute gone in the round. Regan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Diaz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Regan has managed to get both his arms back between Diaz's legs - danger averted. Diaz looking for a guillotine here but Regan defends easily.

Regan has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Regan slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Regan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Diaz keeps working. Regan working the body and head with strikes. That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Diaz is looking to reverse the position. Regan in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Regan trying to control the action but Diaz is working from the bottom. The referee asks Regan politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Regan prefers to stall for the moment though. Regan landing a few strikes.
Diaz is rocked! Regan cracks Diaz with an elbow. That is naaassty. Diaz is still in real trouble! Can Regan finish him? Regan trying to control the position but Diaz is working away. Regan works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Regan lands an elbow. Diaz is trying to improve his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Larry Regan dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Diaz fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Diaz seems to have recovered his senses. Nice jab there from Regan.
It looks like Keith Diaz has been cut. Diaz tries to clinch up but Regan circles away and keeps his distance. Diaz looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Larry Regan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Keith Diaz. Regan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Regan is trying to control. Diaz wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Diaz is looking for a sweep. Regan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Regan looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Diaz with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Diaz looking for a kimura from the bottom but Regan passes into side control! This has been an exciting period of action! Regan working the ground and pound from side control. Diaz tries to get back to half guard but can't. Diaz takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz tries to bench press Regan off him but Regan keeps the position. Regan scoring with punches and elbows. Regan lands a strong strike to the head of Diaz. That's dazed him! Regan looking to finish here. Diaz is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Regan lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Larry Regan! A very excited looking Larry Regan made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
